Spotmask 1.10 released

3d-io is happy to announce the next version of Spotmask!

Version 1.10 comes with two new and amazing render pass elements: Curvature and Thickness.

Finally, you can create high quality outputs for video and image compositing in Autodesk 3ds Max and mental ray. Both Curvature and Thickness generate precisely calculated, perfectly optimized results. Test our demo version today!

New features in Spotmask 1.10

  • support for Autodesk 3ds Max 2017
  • new render element: Curvature
  • new render element: Thickness

Spotmask Curvature

The Curvature render element determines how strongly the surface of objects bends at any given location. It differentiates between convex and concave angles. This information can be used during post-processing to detect and modify grooves and ridges on objects.

Spotmask Thickness

Thickness is a render element that determines the volume thickness of objects over their surface. This information can later be used to add modifications like transparency or coloration to objects based on volume instead of being uniform.
